Assembly & setup
keyboard_arrow_downAssembly is quick and easy: a step-by-step guide comes with your rocking chair and takes you through it.
Description
keyboard_arrow_downThe wood is left showing. It runs along the top of each arm, down the front legs and out into the runners, all in the same pale timber, so the upholstery sits inside a frame rather than covering one. The surface itself is a flat oatmeal, matt, with a fine even grain and no sheen at any angle. On this nursing rocking chair the two materials divide the work between them.
The back is tall, and it stays vertical for most of its height before it turns at the top. The lumbar cushion sits low against it, in the hollow above the seat. The pocket runs down the outside of one arm, low enough to reach without leaning. Underneath, two curved rubberwood runners carry the whole frame, and on carpet they make almost no sound.
What the chair takes up does not change. There is nothing to swing out at the front and nothing to drop at the back, so the floor it needs empty is the floor it needs in use. That matters in a room where the cot takes one wall: the space is measured once, and the measurement holds. Behind, the runners still want a hand's width for the arc.
The pairing was decided in advance: a pale oatmeal against light timber. In a bright room the two tones sit almost level, and the frame reads as a line drawn around the seat rather than a contrast. As the light drops, the upholstery goes warmer while the wood stays where it is, so the outline strengthens through the evening. Against a wall painted anything darker, the whole chair comes forward.
A pale flat surface shows two things before anything else: the shine that builds where hands rest on the arm tops, and the seam lines where dust collects. Both answer to routine. A soft brush attachment along the seams, a barely damp cloth on marks worked from the outside inwards, and the arms wiped more often than the rest.
Placed side by side, the differences are easier to hold: the seats chosen for feeding hours, which answer the same use, the pieces made to be seen, where the frame is part of the point, and the chairs that move in place, which share only the motion.
A chair with a footrest asks the room for two measurements: one closed, one open. The second is the one that catches people out, because it only appears once the chair is actually being used. Here there is a single measurement. Nothing tilts and nothing extends, so moving the chair is a matter of lifting one end. The frame is rubberwood and steel, rated to 150 kg.
It works in the rooms where the plan is tight: a box room with the cot on the long wall, a corner of a main bedroom, a landing wide enough to take a chair. Later it moves without renegotiating anything, and it reads as an armchair anywhere else. What a folding model gives back in leg support it takes in floor.
One shape, one footprint, and nothing that changes either. A nursing rocking chair is easier to place when the measurement only has to be taken once.
Two questions about the room rather than the chair, since that is usually what decides it.
Start with the footprint, then add the arc. A rocker moves through roughly a hand's width behind it and a little at the front, and that is before anyone walks past. In a nursery the useful figure is the clear path left between the chair and the cot once both are in position. That path is what gets used at night.
Most sit between 60 and 80 cm across, and the arms account for most of the difference. A narrow seat with wide arms takes as much wall as a broad one, so the number worth measuring is the outside edge, not the cushion. Compact models exist around 60 to 65 cm, which is where a tight room usually lands.
Care & cleaning
keyboard_arrow_downCare instructions are on the label attached to each chair. As a general rule, spot-clean with a damp cloth and avoid harsh chemical cleaners unless the label says otherwise.
On teddy and bouclé fabrics, a soft brush lifts the pile again where you sit.

Materials & finish
The fabric you sit on every evening is the part that ages first. That is where we start: upholstery that keeps its look through daily use, foam dense enough to hold its shape, and a frame that does not creak after a winter.
Everything listed below comes from this chair's own specification, not from a general description.

Warm rather than clinical. It works beautifully with our cream walls and catches the morning light.

That is the highest praise I can give an armchair.

Weathered really well
It has been outside since spring, through rain and sun, and still looks as good as the day it arrived.
The answers to the questions we are asked most about this model.
The generously padded seat and supportive lumbar cushion are designed for genuine gentle comfort, not a thin layer over a hard frame.
The high backrest and lumbar cushion give proper support through long, still moments, whether that's feeding your baby or settling in with a book.
You have 14 days to return it for a full refund.
Built with a solid rubber wood frame, it offers a smooth rocking motion and reliable stability designed for everyday use, not occasional sitting.
Its timeless design is built to move easily from nursery to living room or bedroom — a long-term piece, not a phase-specific buy.
Not at all. Everything you need is in the box, with a clear step-by-step guide to follow — most people have it fully assembled in around 30 minutes.
