Settle into lasting comfort with the Atlas nursing chair, a generously padded seat designed for feeding, soothing and quiet moments with your baby. Its high supportive back, cushioned headrest and gentle rocking motion create a comfortable place to slow down, whether it is used in a nursery, bedroom or peaceful reading corner.

A nursing rocking chair designed for everyday comfort

The Atlas has been shaped around the way a parent naturally sits during longer feeds. Its tall 57 cm back supports the upper body, while the separate padded headrest provides a comfortable resting point for the neck and head. Deep cushioning extends across the back, seat and rounded armrests, helping the body settle into a relaxed position without losing support.

The broad armrests give your forearms a stable place to rest while holding your baby. This considered shape makes the Atlas nursing rocking chair particularly suitable for evening feeds, contact naps and those early hours when comfort matters most. Its softly structured silhouette feels enveloping without making the chair appear bulky or overly formal.

Unlike a static armchair, the curved wooden runners create a smooth rocking movement that can help establish a calm and reassuring routine. Discover more seats created for feeding and settling in our nursing rocking chair collection.

A nursing chair with an integrated footrest

The retractable footrest extends directly from beneath the seat, providing support for the lower legs without requiring a separate stool. Measuring 28 cm wide and 17 cm deep, it remains aligned with the chair and can be brought forward whenever you want to adopt a more relaxed position.

This integrated design also makes the surrounding space easier to organise. There is no loose ottoman to reposition before sitting down, and the essential elements remain within one compact piece of furniture. When choosing where to place your nursing chair, allow sufficient room in front for the footrest and behind the wooden runners for the natural rocking arc.

If leg support is an important part of your comfort, you can compare the Atlas with other coordinated designs in our rocking chairs with footrest collection.

Soft ribbed corduroy with supportive padding

The warm beige upholstery is defined by deep vertical ribs that follow the shape of the backrest, arms and seat. This ribbed corduroy fabric brings tactile softness to the chair while giving its generous cushioning a clean, contemporary structure. The neutral colour works naturally with warm wood, cream textiles, soft sage walls and other understated nursery palettes.

Beneath the upholstery, resilient foam padding helps the seat remain welcoming during extended periods of use. The sitting area measures approximately 44 cm wide and 46 cm deep, creating a supportive position without making the chair unnecessarily large. The 43 cm seat height also makes it easier to sit down and stand up while keeping the feet comfortably connected to the floor.

To care for the fabric, vacuum gently in the direction of the ribs using a soft upholstery attachment. Marks should be blotted promptly with a lightly damp cloth rather than rubbed across the pile. Regular brushing in the same direction helps the soft corduroy upholstery retain its texture and even appearance.

A stable rocking chair for the nursery and beyond

The upholstered body sits above a black metal support frame and two curved runners in light natural wood. The contrast between the soft beige fabric, dark frame and pale timber gives this nursing rocking chair a balanced look that suits both modern and classic interiors.

Its overall dimensions are approximately 65 cm wide, 102 cm deep and 92 cm high. The wooden runners measure 77 cm in length and sit within a total floor depth of approximately 90 cm. These proportions should be checked against the intended space before ordering, particularly when the chair will be positioned beside a cot, close to a wall or in a compact bedroom.

The headrest measures approximately 29 × 15 cm, providing a defined cushioned area without interrupting the chair’s clean profile. A practical pocket on the outer arm offers convenient storage for small essentials such as a phone, muslin cloth or book, helping you remain comfortably seated once your baby has settled.

Although created as a nursery nursing chair, the Atlas is designed to remain useful long after the feeding stage. Its neutral finish and furniture-led silhouette allow it to move naturally into a living room, bedroom or reading space. Choosing the right nursing rocking chair for your space

Before positioning the Atlas, measure both the chair’s footprint and the clearance needed for its movement. The runners require open floor behind the backrest, while the integrated footrest needs clear space at the front. Placing the chair slightly away from the wall allows the rocking action to remain smooth and helps protect nearby surfaces.

A small side table can be positioned within easy reach, provided it does not obstruct the armrest pocket or the path of the footrest. A firm rug beneath the runners can also help define the feeding corner and protect delicate flooring. With its supportive back, cushioned arms and integrated leg rest, this nursing chair brings the elements needed for calm, comfortable daily use into one coordinated design.

The Atlas combines the reassuring movement of a traditional rocker with the deep comfort expected from a modern upholstered armchair. Designed for feeds, cuddles, reading and rest, it is a nursing rocking chair that can become a lasting part of the home rather than a temporary piece of nursery furniture.
